Okay, so yes Cold Stone is a chain and it's in a lot of places but it's still yummy and worth a review. This specific location is usually busy in the summertime so if you're coming on a week night when there's tons of people and kids, be prepared to wait a little bit. They allow you to sample whichever flavor you would like prior to ordering which is nice but I always stick to my usual that I've been ordering for about ten years which is my cake batter with marshmallows. It's simple, all white and tasty. Here's what I'm not a fan of Cold Stone is their prices. $4 or $5 for a small is a lot in my opinion and you don't get that much and it's technically called a like it. Sometimes, when I'm not feeling like a lot of ice cream, I get the kids size which is like $3.50 and that may or may not fulfill my craving for that day. So to be safe, and to get your moneys worth it's actually better to get there love it size which is like a medium in other ice cream shops. They also have the gotta have it which is the large and that's a little too much for me unless you're sharing with someone, but Cold Stone ice cream, because it's really fatty and high in calories, melts super fast, so I don't like that I have to feel rushed while eating it even if I'm sitting inside in an AC room. Because if you go outside in 90 degree Chicago heat, you can predict your ice cream to be melted in about 3 minutes and then you have white looking sweet milk. So yes, cake batter is definitely my favorite flavor but I also like sweet cream, cheesecake and chocolate cake batter. They have tons of mix ins if you want to spice things up but like I said your bill will quickly add up here. The last couple of times we went, the people working weren't super friendly but I think that if I was serving up scoops of ice cream all day everyday, I wouldn't be my usual peachy self. Overall, Cold Stone is okay, it's not my favorite but I go at least once a year when I'm in the area and I get that craving. Plus, it's on a nice plaza to go shopping after you get your ice cream fix.

This location is tucked away in the back of a shopping mall. We were in the mood for some ice cream, so we sought the place out, but I think the location leaves a lot to be desired. Anyhow, the ice cream was good, but the chocolate waffle cone I had seemed a tad stale. I ended up eating the ice cream and leaving the cone. Service was friendly and the store was clean and bright.

The night shift was not the nicest. One of the workers just gave us an evil glare and stood there, didn't even take our order, just stood there.. When we walked in their faces dropped, they obviously didn't want us to be there. Also, they messed up our orders and gave us the wrong size, but on the good side the ice cream was delicious.

Because of its price, I may not visit a Cold Stone as often as any other ice cream parlor. I'm sad the Cold Stone on Diversey at Clark didn't survive. This is the place to go for a serious ice cream creation, sundae or indulgance. I'm not sure I like the taste of their chocolate yogurt. This is the excuse I'm giving for ignoring what's good for me and sticking with what I love! My only complaint about Cold Stone is the layout. As you wait in line, all you see are the condiments and Artists hard at work scraping together an order. The ice cream is on display in the middle. People inadvertantly cut in line trying to look over shoulders to see the ice cream and yogurt on display. The menu board doesn't offer a list of avaialble flavors. Then again, I don't waste my trip by asking for an ordinary scoop. In fact, I think they discourage it.

And that's the bottom line cause Cold Stone said so. It's kind of surprising that there aren't too many Cold Stone's left. A lot of frozen yogurt places have popped up but this location has remained for years. While this is a chain ice creamery it doesn't feel like one. How Baskin Roobins feels very franchised this place feels like a neighborhood ice creamer parlor with better flavors. While the prices here may be a little high than a normal ice cream shop it is definitely worth it. The option to add sides such as whole Reeses peanut butter cups or M & M's is awesome & makes the ice cream taste that much better. This particular Cold Stone has always been clean when I have been there & the service is always pretty good. The location is convenient as well because it is located in the Deer Park mall & is right next to the movie theater. Overall the place is clean, the service has been good, the location is convenient & the ice cream is delicious. I would definitely come here again if I was in the area.

I took my family here because I had a coupon through the Entertainment Book to purchase a second Like It/Love It/whatever for $.99. It wasn't until I got to the cash register that there was a sign posted that said "No coupons". I asked if they would take my coupon anyway and was denied. There should be a sign visible from the outside sharing this information. I could have made a choice then not to go in, but once my kids had already chosen and watched their treats be created, I couldn't walk away.

Amazing ice cream!! But the service is ridiculous!! They have young kids that work there who are unprofessional and lazy. But the ice cream is to awesome to stay away!
